TENDER
“Remove old Ramp/Steps and Construct a new one”
The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm is now accepting bids for the removal and construction of a new ramp/steps leading to the Cross Country Center (formerly Gerry Byrne Room). The successful bidder is responsible to ensure the ramp/steps meets the NL Accessibility Building Code standards and make an application to Service NL for approval. The bid is for labour only, materials will be supplied. The successful bidder must have OH& S coverage, abide to any safety regulations and have insurance. Please include an approximate start and completion date.
Sealed tenders clearly marked “TENDER – Ramp” should be addressed and forwarded to the undersigned no later than 2 p.m., Sept 30, 2019 at which time tenders will be opened in the Council Chamber. Fax and email tenders will not be accepted.
THE LOWEST OR ANY TENDER WILL NOT NECESSARILY BE ACCEPTED.

Roddickton-Bide Arm Day
In celebration of Roddickton-Bide Arm Day, the Town Office will be closed on Monday, August 5, 2019.
This civic holiday falls under the Shop Closing Act, Section 4 (1) (c) and as such stores/businesses who are not exempt must close.
We are pleased to announce the GNP Splash Pad Committee will be hosting events at the playground on this day. Details to follow!

Waste Management Survey
On February 19, 2019, the Provincial Government released the Terms of Reference for a review of the Provincial Solid Waste Management Strategy.
Public consultation is being requested to be reviewed by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment.

Temporary Position (Revised Deadline)
Applications are being invited from qualified individuals for a Foreman and Labourers under JCP. Individuals will be involved in upgrades to the Roddickton-Bide Arm Fire Hall. All duties involve physical labour, including but not limited to carpentry work.
Successful applicants must meet the following qualifications:
• Be a resident of the province;
• Canadian citizens or permanent residents legally entitled to work in Canada;
• Meet the definition of EI-eligible;
• Be approved by the Department under Section 25 of the Employment Insurance Act as insured participants who are active EI claimants; and
• Have an employment plan that identifies that the JCP work experience being considered supports a reasonable occupational goal.
• Be able to work independently and follow instructions,
• Capable of working in adverse weather conditions,

2019 Taxes are due June 30, 2019. Taxes must be paid in full by this time or payment arragements have to made. Payments can be made by Debit, Visa, Mastercard, Post Dated Cheques, and Cash. A 1% interest per month will be applied to all overdue accounts starting July 1, 2019. Thank You for your understanding.
