….IMPORTANT NOTICE…..

The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm did not contact the RCMP requesting assistance with waste collection. The meeting held with NORPEN and the council on October 3, 2017 was not a public meeting. The purpose of that meeting was to develop an action plan for waste pick up the following day.

A public meeting, with an invitation to NORPEN to attend, will take place on Tuesday – October 10, 2017 at 7 pm in the Gerry Byrne Room.

Garbage Collection

The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm met with NORPEN to discuss waste pick up.

While we are pleased with the great majority of our residents in your efforts to cooperate with compliance of regulations (moving your garbage within 10 feet of the road), there are some serious concerns. The safety of the driver remains the utmost importance and threatening behaviour of a few angry residents is not acceptable. RCMP have been advised and will be present on the regular collection day in the event of future disruptive behaviour.

Tomorrow’s plan is that any waste (not the garbage box) that is placed outside of the 10 feet from the road will be tagged and not collected. From this point forward garbage placed outside of the 10 feet will not be collected as per NORPEN policy.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
