Petition

A petition is circulating the community to call on the reinstatement of the Northern Residence Deduction for the Great Northern Peninsula of NL. If you wish to sign the petition they are located at Irving, Western Petroleum, the Town Office, and Pharmachoice. Hopefully the petition will be at other locations within Town over the next few days.

Congratulations

The Council and Staff are extending a big congratulations to Mayor Fitzgerald on being accepted to Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), Green Municipal Fund Council based in Ottawa. There was a lot of competition for the position. Mayor Fitzgerald expresses how it is a great privilege to sit on this council representing rural communities for the Atlantic Canada and small towns Canada wide. She is the second person from NL to ever sit on this Federal council since it’s establishment in 2000.

Ntv News

Tune into NTV News this evening, Feb 22, 17 between 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm to hear an interview with Mayor Fitzgerald and local students on living in rural Newfoundland. Our community is still very much alive.
