Applications are being invited from qualified individuals for a Foreman and Labourers under JCP. Individuals will be involved in upgrades to the Roddickton-Bide Arm Fire Hall. All duties involve physical labour, including but not limited to carpentry work.

Successful applicants must meet the following qualifications:
• Be a resident of the province;
• Canadian citizens or permanent residents legally entitled to work in Canada;
• Meet the definition of EI-eligible;
• Be approved by the Department under Section 25 of the Employment Insurance Act as insured participants who are active EI claimants; and
• Have an employment plan that identifies that the JCP work experience being considered supports a reasonable occupational goal.
• Be able to work independently and follow instructions,
• Capable of working in adverse weather conditions,

Assessment Review Comissioner

Pursuant to the Assessment Act, the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm is required to appoint a person
to the position of Assessment Review Commissioner for the 2019 Taxation Year. The Assessment Review
Commissioner will be responsible for:

1. Hearing residential and commercial property appeals;
2. Rendering judgments on the appeals;
3. All other responsibilities and duties of the Assessment Review Commissioner as outlined in the
Assessment Act, 2006.

The Town Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified individuals who could fill this appointment.

The time required for holding the hearings for the Review Commission will vary from time to time
throughout the year, depending on the number and nature of appeals. Appeals may include residential,
commercial and industrial properties and interested individuals should have a good working knowledge of the principles of assessment and the methods of market evaluation. They should also possess a thorough knowledge of the legal principles of administrative law, the conduct of hearings, and the interpretation of statutes.

Part Time Call-In Maintenance Person
The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm invites applications for a Part Time Call-In Maintenance Person. We are looking for an individual who can provide quality service to the citizens of the town.
Position Overview:

• The successful candidate would help with the operations and delivery of services for the water and sewer systems, maintenance of streets, ditches, town properties, repair and maintenance of equipment and any other related duties that may arise.

Qualifications:

As Part Time Call-In Maintenance Person, you will be working as part of a team and report directly to the Superintendent of Works. The successful candidate would ideally have practical experience. Trades course would be an asset. The successful candidate must have:
• excellent time management
• be a team player
• possess a valid driver’s license
• working knowledge of modern computer technology
• strong organizational skills
• be willing to complete any courses as required.
