1. I will not be able to vote on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Can I vote in an advance poll?
There is no advance poll.
A person who is not able to vote on election day may vote by proxy. A proxy is a ballot cast by one person on behalf of another by way of a proxy certificate. If you wish to have someone vote on your behalf on election day, please contact the Returning Officer, Jenny at 457-2413. A proxy application will need to be completed and returned before 4:00 pm on Monday, September 25, 2017. No proxy certificates will be issued after this time.

A person living in Roddickton will vote in Roddickton at the Green Moose Interpretation Centre/Town Office.

5. I live in Bide Arm what can I vote for?
If you live in Bide Arm you will receive three separate ballots on election day. A ballot is a piece of paper on which you indicate your choice or opinion in a secret vote. You can vote for:

Individuals living in Bide Arm only, can vote for up to One (1) Bide Arm Ward Councillor. Anyone living in the Roddickton ward cannot vote for this position. People eligible to vote and who live in Bide Arm will vote for up to one (1) of the following individuals:

There is a Roddickton ward councillor as well but no election is required for this one position as ELLSWORTH, Lynn was acclaimed.

Individuals living in Roddickton vote at the Green Moose Interpretation Centre/Town Office.

All persons living in Bide Arm vote at the Bide Arm Fire Hall.

No advance poll but anyone who is not able to vote on voting day can vote by proxy. Contact the Returning Officer, Jenny 457-2413 to get information on voting by proxy.

By-Election

PUBLIC NOTICE
NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES

MUNICIPALITY OF RODDICKTON-BIDE ARM

Nomination of candidates for a by-election of 2 Councillors for the Municipality of Roddickton-Bide Arm will be received between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm on Thursday, June 25th, 2015 at the Town Council Office/Green Moose Interpretation Center.
Nominations shall be in writing and state the name and civic address of the candidate and shall be signed by the Proposer and Seconder both of whom shall be present together with the candidate who shall sign also signifying his or her acceptance. In the event that a candidate cannot be present for his/her nomination, his/her proposer and seconder can complete the required form.
Every candidate for Election to the Council shall at the time of his or her nomination, deposit with the Returning Officer the non-refundable sum of ten dollars ($10.00) for towns/regions.
The qualifications of a candidate for election to council are as follows:
1. Canadian Citizen of the full age of eighteen years.
2. Resident of the municipality or area for at least 30 days immediately prior to the date set for the nomination period.
3. Not indebted to the Council for any arrears of taxes or other charges.
4. Not otherwise disqualifies under the Municipal Elections Act.
