Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to, filling in for the Town Clerk in their absence, overseeing projects, accounts payable, financial recording, and other office duties.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications, the Town reserves the right to evaluate based on work experience and education;

1. Diploma/Certificate in Office/Business Administration or equity experience may be considered
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills
3. Computer training and experience
4. Be fairly proficient and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, email etc.

7. Be bondable

The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm has received Community Enhancement Employment Program funding and is seeking workers.

We require workers to do ball field improvements.

The expected project start date is: November 9, 2015.

• The rate of pay is minimum wage ($10.50).
• All positions are open to both men and women.
• Workers must be currently unemployed to be eligible to work on the project.
• Workers can be employed for a maximum of 400 hours.
• Individuals who require more than 400 hours of project employment in order to obtain EI Benefits are not eligible to participate.
• Individuals must qualify for EI by the end of the project. Further information regarding EI eligibility is available from Service Canada.
• All ROE’s (verifying hours obtained to date) must be submitted before the program start date.
• MUST HAVE ATLEAST 20 HOURS BEFORE WORK BEGINS

Student Summer Employment

Student Summer Employment Program

The town is now accepting resumes from students for summer employment under the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Students will be paid $10.25 per hour at 35 hours per week for 7 weeks.

Students must :
1. be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
2. was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
3. intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
4. is a student in a secondary (high school), post-secondary, vocational or technical program;

The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm is now accepting applications for the position of Town Clerk. The Town is seeking the services of an energetic and vibrant applicant with a combination of educational training and work experience to fulfill the duties of Town Clerk.

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to, acting as secretary to the Town Manager and as Corporate Secretary to Council; attending meetings of council and functions, and being responsible for the safekeeping of all documents and records. The Clerk will also act as Treasurer and is responsible for such things as payroll, cash receipts, accounts payable, financial recording, working with the public and similar duties. All other duties as outlined in the Municipalities Act.
