Temporary Position

11 Weeks – Approximate Start Date: December 14, 2015

 

Applications are being invited from qualified individuals for four (4) Labourers under JCP.

Individuals will be involved in Community Beautification. All duties involve physical labour, including but not limited to carpentry work.

Successful applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • be able to work independently and follow instructions
  • capable of working in adverse weather conditions
  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • are unemployed
  • have a current claim for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits or had an unemployment benefit period that ended within the 36 months (3 years) prior to date of requesting assistance.

12 Weeks – Approximate Start Date: December 7, 2015

 

Applications are being invited from qualified individuals for one (1) Foreman under JCP.

The individual will oversee Community Beautification. All duties involve physical labour including, but not limited to, carpentry work.

The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm invites tenders for the following:

Snowclearing Services for the period
staring December 15, 2015 and ending April 15, 2020.

Tender Documents may be obtained from the Town Council Office. A list of duties is included in the Tender Document.

Tenders will be accepted up to 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015.

Property Located at 188 Main Road, Bide Arm, NL

As per section 404 (1) (L) of the Municipalities Act, 1999 which states: A council may make an order that (1) the owner or occupier of real property remove from that property, solid waste, noxious substances and substances or things which may be a hazard to public health and safety or which adversely affects surrounding properties.

And as per section 404 (1)(F) of the Municipalities Act, 1999 which states: where a building is in a dilapidated state, or is, in the opinion of the council, unfit for human habitation, or another use for which it is then being used, or is a public nuisance, the owner or occupier is to pull down, remove, fill in or otherwise destroy the building and restore the site to its original state, or make the disposition or alteration of the building that the order directs.

WHEREAS your property at 188 Main Road. in the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm, Province of Newfoundland & Labrador may pose a hazard to public health and safety and adversely affects the amenities of the surrounding properties.

Want to have fun while learning about science?

Then this is the camp is for you!!!!

Science Camp Information Sheet

What? Science camp is designed to illustrate the fun and excitement that science has to offer. Kids will have a chance to find out how science is a part of our everyday lives. They have fun in this interactive and hands on learning camp while they are learning about science.

Who? This camp is open to boys and girls starting kindergarten in September up to the age of 13 that are interested in learning about the world around them. The camp will be organized in two age groups. Anyone between the ages 14 – 18 interested in volunteering as a camp leader to assist with the camp are also welcomed.

Civic Holiday

Monday, August 3, 2015 is declared as Roddickton-Bide Arm Day.

Business are reminded that it is a civic holiday which has been declared by Council under the Provincial Shop Closing Act. All businesses, unless they are exempted under the Act, are required to be closed on that day.
